This Week In

About This Week In

This Week In is a growing network of free, locally-curated weekly newsletters for towns across the UK. We started in King's Lynn, Norfolk, and we're slowly adding more towns as we find people on the ground who know them well.

Every Thursday morning, subscribers get a single email with the week ahead: a handful of events worth knowing about, a few stories locals are talking about, and one question to reply to. That's it. No filler, no listicles, no recycled press releases.

How we work

Each town is run by someone who actually lives there. They know which café just opened, which road is closed, which school play is on this weekend. We provide the format, the publishing tools and the audience; they provide the local knowledge.

Newsletters are free to read. We make money from local business advertising — a single sponsored slot per issue, from a real business in that town, clearly marked as sponsored. No programmatic ads, no tracking pixels, no “recommended for you” nonsense.

What we're not

  • We're not a national news site pretending to be local.
  • We're not AI-generated. Every issue is written by a person.
  • We don't sell your email. Ever. Not now, not later.
  • We don't run sponsored content that looks like editorial.
