🏊 Free water safety for 8–15 year olds, three dates this week — Alive West Norfolk is running free 30-minute sessions at Alive Oasis (Hunstanton, Mon), Alive Downham (Wed), Alive St James (Thu) during National Drowning Prevention Week. Pre-book  ·  See more – Link

In the news this week

📜 King's Lynn's medieval 'Red Register' recognised by UNESCO. The Red Register of King's Lynn (c.1300–1395), thought to be the earliest surviving paper book in England, has been added to the UNESCO World Register. Held by the Norfolk Record Office, it contains civic memoranda, wills and deeds of the town's medieval government. See more – Link

A new café has opened on the High Street. The Plot Twist, at 1–2 High Street (former Smith's the Baker's), opened this week — café on one side, pre-loved bookshop on the other, with a portion of book sales going to the men's mental health charity 8:56 Foundation. See more – Link

The Linnets sign Noah Rubio. King's Lynn Town have completed the signing of 20-year-old attacker Noah Rubio, the club's third summer signing. Rubio came through the Kidderminster Harriers academy. See more – Link

🎖️ The new Mayor's civic service. A civic service was held at King's Lynn Minster for the new Mayor, Councillor Steve Bearshaw, and Deputy Mayor Councillor Vivienne Spikings. See more – Link

🏥 Hospital governors wanted. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn is encouraging locals to stand for election as governors. See more – Link

🎧 Free summer concerts return — West Norfolk's Music in the Bandstand series is back, bringing free live music to two outdoor spaces throughout the summer. See more – Link

🎭 Save the date: King's Lynn Festival, 12–25 July. The 75th anniversary King's Lynn Festival runs 12–25 July 2026, with classical music, jazz, folk, drama and more. See more – Link

🎤 Lionel Richie at Sandringham, 20 August. Lionel Richie's exclusive UK 2026 performance is at the Sandringham Estate, with Dave Stewart, Joss Stone and Brooke Combe joining him. See more – Link
