Hi,

Nearly 7,000 of you have put your name to the petition over cuts at the QE, and Thursday's annual members' meeting is the first chance to hear the Trust respond in public. Over at the Adrian Flux Arena, Stars fans are in for a nervous week too — watching someone else's result on Monday before a straight playoff decider away at Northampton on Thursday.

Let's get into it.

The week ahead

🏆 Mon 14 Sep — Stars fans have their eyes on Leicester rather than Lynn tonight: King's Lynn's play-off hopes stay alive only if Ipswich Witches lose there.

🏆 Wed 16 Sep, 7pm — Young Stars double-header, Adrian Flux Arena. King's Lynn's National Development League side take on Leicester Lion Cubs and Middlesbrough Tigers back to back — 30 heats of racing in one night.

🏥 Thu 17 Sep, 4–6pm — QEH Annual Members' Meeting. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital's leadership present the year's performance and take questions — the same meeting where the future of A&E, maternity and intensive care is expected to come up. In-person seats are full; join online via Teams. Register on the QEH site – Register for the Annual Members' Meeting

🏆 Thu 17 Sep — Stars at Northampton. A straight fight for a play-off spot, away from home, to close out King's Lynn's Premiership campaign.

In the news this week

🏥 Nearly 7,000 sign petition over QE service cuts. The Norfolk and Waveney hospitals group is drawing up a long-term strategy that could see Accident & Emergency, intensive care and maternity units lost from the QE, though no final decision has been made. MPs and councillors are pushing for more transparency before the review concludes in November. Read the full story on Lynn News – Petition over QE service cuts nears 7,000 signatures

💧 Burst water main floods Tuesday Market Place. A leak sent water pooling across the car park, forcing drivers to wade through it and shutting the nearby Ferry Street toilets, while Anglian Water worked to fix it. One councillor called the timing — amid an ongoing drought — "frustrating". Read the full story on Lynn News – Flooding persists in town centre after burst main

⚽ Linnets record first clean sheet of the season. Jesse Nwabueze's free-kick and a Reece Hall-Johnson strike gave King's Lynn Town a 2-0 win over Chorley at the Walks, with boss Paul Caddis singling out the defensive display. Read the full story on Lynn News – Caddis hails Nwabueze magic as Linnets bounce back

🏇 What's next for the Linnets' home ground? A Lynn News column asks whether the 75-year-old main stand at the Walks can keep being patched up, or whether the club needs to start planning now for a replacement or a new site altogether. Read the column on Lynn News – What is the future of the Walks?

🏃 Round Norfolk Relay runners finish back at Lynnsport. Teams covered the 198-mile route around the county's boundary in 17 legs over the weekend, starting and finishing at Lynnsport in aid of the East Anglian Air Ambulance. See the route and this year's teams – The Round Norfolk Relay
